It’s a bluesy, Americana, Beatles-esque lesson in guitar tones dripping with Southern swagger, interweaving synth and piano melodies, slide guitar riffs, rich and soulful vocals. It’s described by Rhythms Magazine as - An album that carries with it the poise and assuredness that comes from two decades of playing, writing and singing with the best of them. Three singles have already been released, with ‘Blood Moon’ reaching #2 on the AMRAP charts. Jeb’s debut studio album ‘My Friend Defiance’ is out now on iTunes and Spotify through ‘Blind Date Records’.

EP104 - So What's Been Happening? - Arabella and the Heist

Loud, raw and gritty, Arabella and The Heist punch you in the face and then kiss you on the cheek to make it all better. Hot off the Melbourne rock scene, the four piece are a Melbourne-bred hard rock outfit that ooze rock and roll of the Queens of The Stone Age kind. The kind that makes you put on your favourite leather jacket and start smoking again. Stir this up in a boiling pot of Melbourne punk tradition a la Amyl and The Sniffers and you have the rawness and grit to accompany it. Just like a well rounded meal with your favourite hot sauce, Arabella and The Heist hits you hard but has enough sweetness to leave you coming back for more. Arabella and The Heist are a four-piece rock group fronted by the tenacious force of front-woman Holly Arabella. Joe Humphries provides the high fuzzed, often out-of-control guitar whilst Alex Brown (bass) and Ryan Jones (drums) ensure it all stays on track.

EP99 - So What's Been Happening? - Matt Ward

Adelaide alt-country singer/songwriter Matt Ward recently released his third single of the year, a heartfelt tribute to his family's favourite Australian rules team – Norwood Football Club. Matt draws on the rich history of uniquely Australian songwriting that successfully took elements of alt-country and folk music, bathed them in the landscape, big skies and red desert highways of this sunburnt country and created a sound that was poetic and highly evocative, countrified melodic rock. Think Paul Kelly, The Triffids and The Go-Betweens. Off the back of his 2019 debut #1 ARIA success with Heartland (with acclaimed producer Matt Fell), Ward's Texas-recorded album If I Was In Dallas Tonight (2021) strengthened his songwriting reputation, with Rhythms magazine calling it “world class”. Ward has backed up his superb releases, which included recordings with Kate Brianna and US outlaw country artist Bonnie Montgomery, with heavyweight performances as a headline artist at the 2021 Groundwater Music Festival, a showcase artist at Nashville's Bluebird Café (Americanafest 2019) and Australian Music Week, and gigs at high profile national venues such as The Barn Wombat Flat (2021). As well as being label boss for Heartland Music Australia (Amber Rae Slade, Nathan Seeckts, Harvey Russell), Ward is currently recording music with both The Rising Sons in Adelaide and a studio album with Matt Fell in Tasmania, with plans to release a new full-length album in 2024.

EP97 - So What's Been Happening? - Chris Carrapetta

Sydney, NSW alt-country and Australian Americana artist Chris Carrapetta proudly releases his most fully realised and personal album – Nothing Left To Lose. Musically Carrapetta draws on the rich history of folk rock and country music. Avoiding the cliches of commercial country music, he's found his home in the established yet still expanding alt-country and Australian Americana scene.
His songs are laden with melodic vocals, rich layers of keyboards and guitars that have the hooks of indie rock and the swagger and twang of Wilco and Jason Isbell with the smooth feel of Neil Young and Ryan Adams. Troubled times are documented across Nothing Left To Lose but ultimately Carrapetta has his heart set towards an optimistic new horizon on this world class collection of songs.

EP96 - So What's Been Happening? - Mark Moldre
NSW Central Coast songwriter Mark Moldre has come along way since his early releases with his band Hitchcock’s Regret in the early 2000s. Now four albums deep into his solo career, he continues to refine and develop his craft of songwriting, arranging and playing, and on the new album Nambucca Fables he dives deep into highly personal material that will resonate on a deep humanistic and relatable level with his audience. Whether that’s those that have experienced loss and grief or those who need a gentle guide through the inevitable experiences we all must face.
"If Tom Waits, Elvis Costello and Jeff Tweedy were pushed out to sea in a rickety old boat they’d come up with something like this. ..a boisterous yet soulful musical journey worth the fare. You’ll be stomping and crying and laughing, and if you’re lucky to catch Moldre live, you’ll be doing all three with a whiskey in hand.” Timber & Steel
